Our Mission

Our mission is to provide compassionate care and a safe, loving environment for abandoned, abused, and stray cats. We are committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cats in need within the Augusta area, while promoting awareness about responsible pet ownership and advocating for the well-being of all animals. Through our efforts, we aim to reduce overpopulation, give every cat a chance at a happy life, and foster a community of kindness and compassion for all creatures.

Education

At Coco's Cat Rescue, we believe that one of the main ways to aid in the cat overpopulation is through education. Pet ownership is not easy, but with proper information and resources, it can be so fulfilling.

For example, the number 1 reason that pet owners surrender their cats is "non-aggressive" behavioral issues. This means actions like scratching furniture, urinating outside the litter box, or chasing feet - behavioral issues that can be solved with small adjustments to the living spaces. However, without proper education, owners can feel lost and surrender their pets, or even worse, release them.

Providing the necessary education to pet owners prior to adoption and through out their lives as pet owners is an essential part of our mission at Coco's.
